The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra is delighted to announce the details of our Spring Season running from 26th October – 16th November at the Linder Auditorium.

The World Symphony Series showcases an excellent line-up of international conductors and soloists. Our opening Gala Concert features two world renowned artists – acclaimed conductor Justus Frantz; and celebrated pianist Valentina Lisitsa, the first ‘YouTube star’ of classical music, who successfully converted her internet success into a global phenomenon with over 147 million views.

The remaining three concerts are led by Spanish conductor Irene Delgado-Jiménez and accomplished conductors Daniel Boico and Robert Moody. Soloists include the brilliant Russian violinist Nikita Boriso-Glebsky; pianist Nikita Mndoyants who is becoming one of the leading Beethoven interpreters; and compelling young cellist Bryan Cheng.

Repertoire includes favourites by Rachmaninoff, Beethoven, Sibelius and Schubert, as well as widely performed works by Dvořák, Bruch and Elgar. This series also features special choral songs by the gifted South African composer J S Khosa.

Season Ticket holders will enjoy discounted rates, the convenience of booking your tickets through the JPO Office and a free programme at each concert. Bookings for Season Tickets are now available through the office on info@jpo.co.za / rosie@jpo.co.za or 011 484 0446.
