Equally at home in the opera pit, Moody began his career as apprentice conductor for the Landestheater Opera in Linz, Austria. He conducted early on at the opera companies of Santa Fe, Brevard Music Center, and Hilton Head Opera. He also assisted on a production of Verdi Otelloat the Metropolitan Opera, conducted by Valery Gergiev, and at The English National Opera, where he was Assistant Conductor for Kurt Weill Street Scene. He made his Washington National Opera and North Carolina Opera debuts in 2014, and conducted Bartok Bluebeard’s Castle, Leoncavallo I Pagliacci, and Poulenc Dialogues of the Carmelitesduring 2016-2017. Debuts to rave reviews with Brevard Music Center for Weill Street Scene, Opera Carolina for Mozart Le Nozze di Figaroand Des Moines Metro Opera for J. Strauss Die Fledermauscame in 2017 and 2018.
Soloist: Ye-Eun Choi, violin
Violinist Ye-Eun Choi is defined by her dynamic sound, rich with vibrant timbre, sensitivity and nuance. Her colourful, expressive lyricism and virtuosity has earned her acclaim for her engagements as both a soloist and a chamber musician. Munich-based Ye-Eun Choi was born in Seoul. She made her orchestral debut at age 10 with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2004, she moved to Munich to study with Ana Chumachenco at the Hochschule für Musik and Theater.
