Conductor : Arjan Tien

German-Dutch conductor Arjan Tien studied violin and viola at the Conservatory in Utrecht and conducting with George Hurst and Roberto Benzi in England and Switzerland. He finished his studies in Utrecht in 1994 summa cum laude. As a viola player he gave his solo debut with the Salzburg Chamber Soloists in Sao Paulo and Vitória in Brasil. Arjan Tien also was concert master at the Brabants Kammerorchester and solo violist at the Dutch National Youth Orchestra. From 1992 to 2004 he was a viola player at the Radio Filharmonisch Orkest Holland. In 1997 Arjan Tien attended the International Conductor Master Class in La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland. He received First Prize Rotary-Faller“.


Soloist: Sodi Braide, piano

Born of Nigerian parents in Newcastle (United Kingdom), Sodi Braide started playing the piano at the age of 3. He continued his musical studies in Nigeria and then in France, at the Conservatoire National Supérieur, Paris with Jacques Rouvier and Gerard Fremy, and at the Ecole Normale, Paris with Françoise Thinat. He was admitted into the class of Dmitri Bashkirov at the Reina Sofia School, Madrid, before being granted residency at the prestigious Lake Como Piano Foundation where he took part in masterclasses by musicians such as Leon Fleisher, Andreas Staier, Alicia de Larrocha and Charles Rosen, amongst others. he also studied conducting with Claire Levacher at the Paris Conservatory and with Claire Gibault and the Paris Mozart Orchestra.
